Struggle concentrating at work? Try Simplynoise.
Written by Tim Stiffler-Dean

simply noiseI spend most of my day at work looking at code; PHP, HTML, CSS, XML and more. So when I have a headache or the office is loud, it gets very difficult to concentrate on my work. Luckily though, some genius invented a tool that will soothe your headache, remove all background noise, and help you concentrate at the same time. I even use it to go to sleep at night sometimes, or when I'm reading. Sound too good to be true? Well, if you don't believe that it's the simple things in life that make it enjoyable, you should now.

SimplyNoise is the name of the service, and interestingly different than how you may think it works, it uses noise to accomplish the goals set above. With a steady stream of various types of white noise (my favorite is the deeper brown/red noise) you are given the ability to concentrate on practically anything (in a sort of super-human way). Whether it be while writing HTML code, reading a book, or even during quiet meditation, you should check it out and tell me what you think. It is a bit annoying for the first few minutes, but in my experience I forgot it was even running and later realized that I had gotten more done because I could concentrate better.

I saw this site on TechCrunch or something and didn't give it a try, but I've tried it out and I'm already hooked.
Thanks for posting, now I'm somehow driven to get to work! smilies/smiley.gif

Hey Kyle! Yeah I was in a similar situation. I'd seen it mentioned on Lifehacker but hadn't given it a go until Tim had mentioned it! Once he'd mentioned it, I gave it a go, and it's true it works!
