Viewsonic Viewpad 7 overviewViewsonic Viewpad 7 is an attractive tablet with Android as its operating system. It also allows users to make calls when a SIM card is plugged in. It has a sharp and clean design and comes with a very convenient case. The battery life of Viewpad 7 is reasonably good as the battery can support the device for nearly 7 hours.
FeaturesViewpoint 7 is handy and user friendly. It has a 7 inch screen which enables users to easily watch videos, read from websites and e books. The tablet runs on Android 2.2 version. Viewpad 7 has 3 different keypad options and users can choose any one of them. It has a front-facing camera, which offers an 'ok' level of performance. The call quality of the Viewpad 7 is good as both the microphone and the speakers have excellent clarity. HardwareViewpad 7 has 512 MB RAM and the storage capacity could be enhanced up to 32 GB with MicroSD cards. For wireless connectivity there are Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi G, Quad GSM bands, A-GPS and tri-band UMTS. The screen has 800x400 pixels resolution, which is comparatively lower than the other tablets in the market. As a result the text and the images may look a bit grainy. DesignThe edges of the Viewpad 7 are bordered in silvery plastic and the front and the back of it is in glossy black colour. The flat tablet which has slightly sharp edges is comfortable to hold. Volume controls of the Viewpad 7 are placed at the top. At the bottom there is a miniUSB port and mic/headphone jack. Two speakers which are on either side of the tabloid offer fairly good sound quality. Camera and battery lifeThe camera quality of this tablet is just average. The standard definition video of Viewpad 7 may be sufficient for video calling but not for recording. PerformanceHTC Hero uses a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7600 processor, but it is a bit slow for a smartphone, which could end up being its biggest drawback. For an existing smartphone user looking for a change, the HTC Hero's sluggish performance could kill the deal. But this performance issue should get sorted out through a fix to be released by HTC. Battery lifeIt offers a poor battery life with a four hour talk time. This seems to be a drawback with most Android phones. The battery will last about one day of regular use. However, some quick fix solutions have been suggested to improve the battery life, like increasing the refresh time for email and using a third party text application. ConclusionViewpad 7 Android tablet is fairly well built with plenty of applications and features. It comes with a protective case which makes it easy to carry and handle. It offers great audio and video conferencing features, and the sound quality is excellent. If you do not mind its low resolution screen and if you do not use the tablet camera much, Viewpoint 7 could be just the right pick for you. Pros:
